This is part of a Camarasaurus vertebra - possibly a section of a rib - measuring about 19cm (7.5") in length, and about 6cm (2.4") wide. The top part of the piece is flat and fairly smooth, and the underside is rounded in shape and has a depth of about 4.5cm (1.8"). The rock matrix has been pretty much been completely removed on the top flat part, and some has been removed from the underside. Even though the piece looks great as it is, it is therefore also possible to remove more of the matrix. Cross-sections through the bone can also be seen in some parts. A great piece at an excellent price.
